Stray Kids have had some collaborations in the past few years, giving us some of their most iconic songs. Their first ever proper collaboration was in 2021 with Alesso and Corsak in ‘Going Dumb’, and since then they’ve had the chance to work with some of their (and our) favorite artists: ‘Topline,’ ‘Social Path,’ ‘All My Life,’ as well as some solo features. With the release of their latest single, ‘Lose My Breath,’ we’re picturing what some of our dream collabs would be, and here are eight of them!
Epik High’s Tablo
We’ve been manifesting for this one for a while now, and the ‘MEGAVERSE‘ tease made us even more excited with the idea that it might happen. Tablo made a cameo appearance at the end of the music video for their ROCK-STAR b-side, and everything seemed to hint at a collab. Tablo has also been very vocal about how much his daughter loves Stray Kids and how much respect he has for them. Aside from his genuine interest in the group and him being one of Stray Kids‘ biggest idols, we genuinely think that one of his raps in a Stray Kids song would be incredible. Stray Kids are known for having some of the industry’s strongest rappers, and adding Tablo to the mix would be mind-blowing.
DPR
This is another one that we’ve been thinking about for a long time, and we cannot talk about it enough because it would be perfect. Bang Chan has shown a lot of love for DPR in the past, and we get him. DPR’s music is simply incredible, diverse, and addictive. While the different styles the DPR members explore aren’t exactly what Stray Kids does, we think together they would make something extraordinary. Just to pick one for today, we’ll say DPR IAN is the one we’re manifesting the most, but honestly… Any DPR collaboration with Stray Kids would be a dream come true for us.
DAY6’s Young K
Young K has proven to be one of the best lyricists and composers in the industry – there is no denying that. Not only has Young K written most of DAY6‘s discography, but he has also been writing more and more for other groups such as Xdinary Heroes, NMIXX, H1-KEY, and ZEROBASEONE. There is no explanation to be made about how many masterpieces there are in DAY6’s discography and how iconic and timeless their music is. And each song he wrote for and with other groups has rewired our brains. That’s how good of a musician Young K is.
Imagine putting him together with the geniuses that are 3RACHA for a Stray Kids song — it would be nothing short of a masterpiece. Stray Kids have shown so much love to DAY6 and their music in the past, making so many covers — and sounding incredible every single time. Also, since Bang Chan mentioned they were supposed to make a cover, we haven’t been able to stop thinking about how amazing their voices would sound together — not to mention their long and wholesome friendship.
We actually wouldn’t mind a collab with the entirety of DAY6, to be honest… And, actually, if we got a JYP Nation collab, we could die in peace.
Dean Lewis
No, we’re not saying this only because he’s Australian — but that definitely helps.
Dean Lewis is an incredible singer-songwriter who knows exactly how to tug at our heartstrings with his raw lyrics and touching vocals. And since Han shared a snippet of him singing ‘How Do I Say Goodbye‘ on his Instagram account, we haven’t stopped thinking about how great a collab between Dean Lewis and Stray Kids would be. And Dean Lewis seems to agree with us because he seemed to be absolutely amazed by Han’s vocals. On top of that, Bang Chan has shown love to his music before. And did we mention he’s Australian already? This would be a collab no one would see coming and we’re here for it. He could bring something so special to Stray Kids‘ discography.
Laufey
Bang Chan lowkey created a rot in our brains when he recommended ‘Like The Movies’ by Laufey on Bubble. Laufey‘s songs sound arguably nothing like Stray Kids, but that’s also what would make this collab so memorable. Her music has this vintage, old-soul feel to it that is truly unique. Her voice is smooth and distinctive, giving her music an indescribable feeling and making her sound, something only she could do. We love Stray Kids‘ more powerful music, but we also love their chill and laid-back songs where the lyrics hit, and the vocals of all eight members shine. And with a collab with Laufey, we would get to see an entirely new side to their voices, and it’s sure to be gorgeous. Especially for I.N – his voice would fit so wonderfully well with Laufey‘s vocals.
(G)I-DLE
Stray Kids and (G)I-DLE have a lot in common: they’re both some of the biggest names in the 4th gen and K-Pop in general, they both produce their own music, they both have given us iconic songs, and we’re obsessed with them. Imagine you were to put 3RACHA with (G)I-DLE‘s producing trio (Soyeon, Minnie, and Yuqi) in a writing room together. The world could simply not handle it. And don’t even let us start talking about what it would mean vocally, rap-wise, and how powerful the performance would be. There’s not much explanation to do: they simply would shake the entire world together.
DJ Snake
Stray Kids have experimented with so many different genres and styles through the years. However, one of the things about Stray Kids that has always stuck out the most is their EDM songs. They already collaborated with big names like Alesso and Corsak, and there’s no reason why it should end there. Some of our favorite songs by Stray Kids are on the EDM side, and we know that DJ Snake is one of those producers that would fit perfectly with Stray Kids. It would be such an incredible collaboration. Banger guaranteed.
And, hey, DJ Snake has already collabed with big K-Pop names such as BLACKPINK‘s Lisa and BTS‘ Jungkook, and Stray Kids met him at the Gala Des Pièces Jaunes… So it’s not that farfetched (we hope.)
One Ok Rock
Now, this one may be a far fetch, but we have a vision for this one.
We have a vision for this one, so please hear us out. ONE OK ROCK is one of the biggest Japanese bands ever, and their impact is impressive. Their talent is truly impossible to measure. So it’s no surprise that Stray Kids love them as much as they do — especially Han, who considers them one of his favorite rock bands. Stray Kids have also shown so much love and appreciation for rock. We already got a taste of Stray Kids doing the genre, especially with the rock version of ‘LALALALA,’ but imagine how incredible it would be for Stray Kids to collaborate with a rock band they admire so much… Also, Han and Taka’s voices would be insane together.
